AZ Governor Brewer ditches Gun Buy-Back program for new Gun-Redistribution program

Wednesday, May 1, 2013

What. In. The. Fuck is going on in Arizona? Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed a bill on Monday requiring all firearms acquired through gun buyback events to be resold, rather than destroyed.
Soooooo to be clear, the new Arizona plan is to offer incentives for poor people to give up their guns, then the State will put a new price tag on them and redistribute them to folks who can afford them?
This completely goes against the whole premise of having Gun Buy-Back events...  The idea is to get guns off the streets, NOT to transfer guns from one community to another. This is some Bullshit!
But she wasn't finished...
Brewer signed a second bill on Monday that bans any city, town, or county from collecting or maintaining of any identifying information about a person who owns or sells a firearm.
...You know, it amazes me that the same motherfuckers who are so patriotically indignant about even the possibility of putting any limitations on gun ownership due to it being a constitutionally protected act, have literally no qualms and in many cases zeal about fucking with my right to vote by trotting out these mickey-mouse restrictions and limitations like voter ID and what-not.
On another note - doesn't Jan Brewer look like that dead preacher from Poltergeist?  ...just sayin'

I'm Back...

Thursday, February 21, 2013

After a ridiculously long hiatus, I have decided to return to blogging... Not that its a big deal to anybody else, but over time I've built up such a reservoir of outrage and shock that I desperately need the outlet. Without it, I'd probably either stroke out or have to find some in-patient therapy... Not that I'm crazy - I most certainly am not... but I've got a cast of characters in my daily life that are certainly enough to drive a muthafucka crazy - so I write to alleviate the urge to "handle" the situation in a more direct and tactile manner...

Hope you read it - hope you enjoy it - blah blah blah...

We the People? - The Tea Party needs to pick a side!

Saturday, February 19, 2011

Isn't it an interesting parallel that after the protests in Egypt commanded Worldwide attention, the Mubarik regime paid "pro-government" supporters to go out and clash with the demonstrators.

And now the protests in Wisconsin are attracting the eyes of the world, the Tea Party groups have decided to bus in their own "pro-government" supporters to go out and clash with the demonstrators.

And isn't it strange that a 'grass roots' movement who have been shouting from the rooftops that the Government needs to "listen to the People", could turn right around less-than-a-year later and argue that The People need to "listen to the Government."

Wisconsin and the deafening roar of the mythical silent majority

Friday, February 18, 2011

Ok, so, I just finished listening to Governor Walker give a speech where he somehow managed to talk about looking out for the will and welfare of the people, while simultaneously ignoring the thousands of people who were protesting his ass and his decisions inside of his Capital building.

He employed a tactic that I've been hearing more and more as of late... Now get this... There are LITERALLY thousands of people chanting and shouting in the Capital building itself, up and down the streets, at the Governors mansion, and a State-Wide sick-out has shut-down the school system... But This muthafucka goes on television and says that there are more than 5 million people in the State of Wisconsin and that he would not allow "the protesters to believe that they could drown out the voices" of the other Wisconsin residents.

Drown out?

If you claim to be "of the people" and "for the people", how in the hell do you "ignore the people" when they leave their jobs and their security to come to YOUR house so that they can be heard. How do you justify "standing up" for the folks who HAVEN'T SAID SHIT and elevating what you ASSUME they would say above what the thousands of people standing outside your door are clearly telling you?

When the 5 million folks who are sitting at home and watching the shit on tv show up and state their opinion, THEN we have something to talk about, but UNITL THEN... GETTHEFUCKOUTTAHERE

Bristol, Brandy, and the real face of Affirmative Action

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Now normally, I wouldn't give two shits about a television reality show. Big Brother, the Real World, Jersey Shore  ...all of them are variations of the same theme. Young twenty-something white kids (who sometimes have "one" light skinned half black friend), in a new environment, drinking and fucking each other, blah blah blah... But last night, Dancing with the Stars provided a tiny little window into the TRUE reality that reality shows tend to obscure.

Dancing with the Stars is a Dancing Contest. I say again for emphasis... Dancing with the Stars IS.A.DANCING. CONTEST.

And on this DANCING.CONTEST., performers are scored by qualified judges, but they are also voted on by the general public. And the vote of the General Public determines who moves forward and who is kicked off...

Bristol Palin ended last night in Last Place FOR THE SEVENTH TIME.

Brandy earned a PERFECT SCORE.

Yet in a CLASSIC display of REAL American Affirmative Action, White Folks viewers voted for BRISTOL to move on to the finals and booted Brandy off the show. Brandy earns a PERFECT score and LOSES to the White chick in LAST PLACE.

Bristol, completely oblivious to the fact that her promotion was unearned and undeserved remarked that she felt she was the most improved dancer so she deserved the win.  *BULLSHIT*  That fact that you went from being a "terrible" dancer to being a "mediocre" dancer should not mean that you should beat a "great" dancer in a fucking Dancing Contest! Unless of course, you're White,  a Palin,  American...

The Fix Is IN!!!

Friday, November 5, 2010

Ok, So I'm watching Morning Joe this morning... Erin Burnett comes on with her morning Market Report - just 3 DAYS after the elections - and Guess what... Even though the unemployment numbers didn't change and we are holding steady at 9.6%, she gushed about how we are now adding private sector jobs at a sufficient rate to bring the unemployment numbers down.

And as if that were not fishy enough, the Jobs report she was describing was the OCTOBER report, which coincidentally wasn't released until after the election...

And if THAT isn't fishy enough, she went on to state that the September jobs report (which had been reported as a negative report) has NOW been REVISED... It seems we were adding Private Sector Jobs at this rate back in September as well!

Hmmmm, sooooooo we just experienced a wave election fueled by anger in the electorate over the lack of jobs and feelings about the economy. YET it is now reported that the economy was showing these really positive signs of improvement for the last couple months - BUT news outlets like MSNBC sat on the numbers  and only released them AFTER the elections, along with a glowing commentary encouraging people to be optimistic.

Don't sleep... The Hustler's are coming home to roost.

...the more things stay the same

Thursday, October 14, 2010

So, Michelle Rhee, hailed by many as one of the authentic change agents so desperately needed in our Nation's Schools, has just been shit-canned submitted her resignation after seizing the media spotlight by demanding excellence and accountability from teachers. The Washington DC school system, with abominable graduation and drop out rates, seemed to have a glimmer of hope. Here was someone who was finally willing to stand up to the Teacher's Unions and fire lousy teachers who could not produce results. Here was someone who saw past the bullshit myth that all teachers are generally the same, and that the wildly different outcomes are solely the fault of the students themselves.

Hospitals wouldn't keep a Doctor whose patients generally didn't recover from their illnesses and just stayed sick more often then all the other Doctors.

Your local gym wouldn't keep an Personal trainer whose clients didn't really lose any weight and always just seemed to stay fat more other then any other trainers.

But when it come to teachers in Inner-City schools, the students can just keep failing, quitting, or getting kicked out, and the Teachers are generally held-harmless... The defect is assumed to be the child's.

Michell Rhee promised to change all that. She and then Mayor Adrien Fenty were promising to reform DC schools and provide a template for fixing all schools....

But then an election took place...and money changed hands...the special interests and lobbyists went to work...now Fenty and Rhee are gone...the Teacher's Union is jubilant...and the kids are fucked...

Damn Michelle, I was really routing for you...

Where the Fuck is Superman when you need him?

Newt Gingrich and fair-weather Federalism

Friday, September 3, 2010

To be perfectly honest, I think partisan politics is a hustle... It's a well paying gig for the mendacious and charismatic who are either too unattractive or don't have enough of a southern drawl to work a pulpit. So I'm rarely surprised when a politician acts hypocritically or takes contradictory positions based on their personal self-interests... But this one is REALLY a gem...

If you go to Newt Gingrich's website, in his issues section, he has tabs on "limited government" and "religious liberty". (You can already see where I'm going with this can't you)

Under the grand heading of "Religious Liberty", Newt writes:
A steadfast commitment to religious freedom is the very cornerstone of American liberty. People came to America’s shores to be free to practice their religious beliefs. It brought the Puritans with their desire to create a “city on a hill” that would be a beacon of religious belief and piety. The Pilgrims were another group that poured into the new colonies. Quakers in Pennsylvania were another, Catholics in Maryland yet a fourth.
It is important to recognize that the benefits of these supports accrue to people of not just one particular faith, but those of all faiths, and for all people of goodwill, whether religious, agnostic, atheist, or radical secularist. Likewise, the Founders clearly believed that the weakening of these religious supports – such as by the hostile treatment of religion in American public life -- threatens to undermine the very republican institutions under which the religious and the non-religious alike find their liberties.

Under the grand heading of "Limited Government" he speaks about the "gaming the system mentality" and inherent corruption of big government, stating:
Markets are ultimately fair because they empower individual consumers to make their own choices. Bureaucracies are fundamentally unfair because they empower a few insiders who inevitably drift toward cronyism and corruption. The only solution for big-government corruption is smaller government.

Hmmmmmmm, Let's recap... our commitment to religious liberty must be steadfast and should extend to all faiths - AND the government should stay out of free-market transactions...

OK

Now can someone reconcile that shit with Newt Gingrich's NEW position: That when it comes to an old Burlington Coat Factory building being leased to a group who want to construct an Islamic community center, that the Federal Government should "game the system" by declaring the whole Ground Zero area a 'National Battleground'?

He even went on to say:
"The Attorney General of New York, Andrew Cuomo, could intervene because frankly he has the ability to slow it down for decades if he wants to."
"There are a number of different steps that could be taken. There's no reason this has to occur and whether it's city, state, or federal there are plenty of ways for America to stop it."

Clearly, one of y'all (and by y'all I mean "Gingrich A" or "Gingrich B") is pandering... Either website Gingrich is stating your true positions and talking point Gingrich is trying to build support for a political run by fanning the flames of racism and anti-Muslim sentiment, OR - you're just another race-baiting asshole and your website is designed to build political support for you with eloquent displays of fake piety and philosophical fuckery.

I don't know which one is true, but I do know one thing - You sir, are full of shit.

~~**And that's one to grow on**~~
