Savage Stupidity

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

By now, you have all probably heard the recent comments by Micheal Savage where he said that Autism is:

"[a] fraud, a racket. ... I'll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism
is."

Now Clearly this is some dumb shit, and while a certain fraction of me Could talk at length about the absurdity of his comments and the outrage they engendered, I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT NOW...

What has really raised my ire is that part of his rant that you may NOT have heard... During the very same diatribe wherein he made the asinine Autism comments, Savage ALSO mused:

"Why was there an asthma epidemic amongst minority children? Because I'll tell
you why: The children got extra welfare if they were disabled, and they got
extra help in school. It was a money racket. Everyone went in and was told [fake
cough], 'When the nurse looks at you, you go [fake cough], "I don't know, the
dust got me." ' See, everyone had asthma from the minority community."

Now, here's the rub... I can certainly share the outrage of all of the parents and family members who were offended by Savage's comments about Autism. I don't have any Autistic relatives that I know of, but I would still be willing to give brother Savage 3.6 gratuitous kicks in the nuts just on principle alone. HOWEVER, why is it that his comments about Black folks training their children to fake illnesses to collect Welfare passed below the radar? Why isn't the blogosphere outraged with us too? Where are the MSM reports?

This is the shit that makes you go hmmmmmm...

(Perhaps I'll give Savage 2 kicks in the nuts and save the other 1.6 for the next "progressive" that asks me to commiserate)

Satire or Sabotage? Obama & the New Yorker

Monday, July 14, 2008

Ok, What the fuck!?!? What exactly does this man have to do to get some love and respect? I mean, he's already on a Bill Cosby'esce "Black Vice tour" across the chit'lin circuit; highlighting and condemning black failures to adoring crowds. He's already spent millions airing a commercial nationwide complete with an acoustic guitar background, showing baby Obama being raised in a family of whites. He's disavowed his pastor, condemned Farrakhan, distanced himself from any Black person who's ever used the word "white" in a sentence, forgiven Ferraro (twice), danced with Ellen, put on a flag pin, hugged on Hillary, and gave the Hawaiian Mahalo sign during a Country and Western Concert. And this is the treatment he gets from the so-called "progressive left"?

Must he reveal some "secret loathing" of Black people in order for folks to accept him?

Moratorium on Mean Mugging

Sunday, July 13, 2008

So I'm walking around in downtown Everywhere right, and no less than 3 of us come walking past mean mugging me like they want to do something. Now the Count is not a violent man. I can certainly appreciate both the comfort and the aesthetic of smiling faces on a beautiful day. But at 5'9" and 230 pounds, I have a body that was custom built for violence. And while I realize that Mean Mugging is perhaps little more than a cultural affectation; I swear today it is about 2 or 3 glances away from becoming a bonifide cultural liability.

Brothers, whatever it is that's got you so angry... You can be practically assured that "I" didn't have anything to do with it. Demonstrating your resistance by mean mugging me is just plain stupid. Hell, I'm probably mad about the same shit - but why in the world do we act it out on each other?

Boogeyman Musings

Saturday, July 12, 2008

So I'm sitting in Chicago O'hare airport right... And I overhear some white guys on the phone talking about how they're on the way to the NAACP convention in Cincinnati. The entire schedule of the convention (which in actuality is about a week long) gets boiled down to two days and two events; McCain speaking and Obama speaking. They were discussing getting pictures taken and wondering if they'd have to demonstrate that they were or had become members...

Now I don't begrudge the dudes for wanting to hear what's said... But it never ceases to amaze me how folks who generally don't give a shit about black folks or black organizations can certainly show up and hog a seat and a meal when it suits them. And immediately thereafter we can go right back to being boogeymen...

I'm in the wrong line of work... I need to be a bouncer/doorman.
